Features & Highlights
recteq, a pioneer in the world of smart grilling, offers an impressive array of features that cater to grill enthusiasts of all skill levels. Here are some core features that truly set recteq apart:
Real Experience Using recteq
Application Scenarios
My journey with the recteq app began during a summer barbecue. As someone who loves outdoor cooking, I often found myself glued to the grill, constantly checking the temperature of my meats. With the recteq app, I was able to step away from the grill and enjoy time with my guests, all while keeping an eye on the cooking process from my smartphone. Whether it's hosting a family gathering with ribs and burgers or a simple weekday dinner with roasted vegetables, the app has transformed how I approach grilling.
User Experience
The user interface of the recteq app is intuitive and user-friendly, making it easy for anyone to navigate. Upon opening the app, I was greeted with a clean layout that highlights the most important features. The temperature controls are straightforward, allowing me to set desired cooking levels quickly. The workflow is seamless; I can easily switch between different recipes, adjust my grill settings, and even check the temperature of my meat with just a few taps. Performance-wise, the app has been reliable with minimal lag, making it a dependable companion during my grilling sessions. Overall, my experience has been nothing short of delightful, turning grilling from a chore into an enjoyable culinary adventure.
Pricing
recteq offers a variety of grills and accessories at different price points, making it accessible for both novices and seasoned grillers. The app itself is free to download, but users need to invest in a recteq grill to fully utilize its features. Prices for the grills start around $500, which is competitive for high-quality, smart grilling technology. Given the versatility and performance of recteq products, I believe the investment is well worth it for anyone serious about outdoor cooking.
Updates & Support
recteq’s commitment to customer satisfaction is evident in their regular app updates that enhance functionality and fix bugs. Whenever I've had questions or needed assistance, their support team has been responsive and helpful. They provide extensive resources through their website, including tutorials and troubleshooting guides, ensuring users can maximize their grilling experience. The community forum is another excellent resource, where I have found answers to common questions and even shared my experiences.
Security & Privacy Review
As an American user, security and privacy are always top of mind when using smart technology. The recteq app is available on both the App Store and Google Play, providing a level of trust as these platforms vet applications for safety. Upon registering, I was required to provide basic personal information, including my email address, which is standard for apps that offer personalized features and community engagement.
Regarding ads or tracking behavior, I have not experienced intrusive advertisements within the app. It seems that recteq prioritizes user experience, focusing on providing valuable content and features rather than monetizing through ads. However, it is always wise to review the privacy policy to understand how personal data is managed and protected. Overall, I feel confident using the recteq app, knowing that my information is handled with care.

After installing a new controller in my 1250 I was reminded just how annoying this app is and the "connecting to WiFi" process is. In fairness, this really isn't the app's fault, it's a HW issue and Recteq's reluctance to invest in a more capable chipset. The hoops you need to jump thru to get a clean 2.4MHz SSID are just beyond the pale for a device this expensive; this was not the place for Recteq to "go cheap". If I had it to do over again, I would consider another brand.

Good product, bad app. I can't believe I have to leave this review. I think the smoker is great. and overall the app works well. But recently, the app bombards with notification ads. I generally need notifications when I hit temperatures, I do not want to buy extra stuff or recipes or whatever. Leave me alone. I just paid $1000+ for a smoker, you have my money. Stop trying to squeeze every dime.

I bought the Deck Boss 800, delivered in only 5 days, I thought that was good and fast. I love grill and the way it keeps the temperature within just a few degrees of what it is set on. Been trying to connect the wifi to it for more than a week with no luck. My son came over yesterday and I had him try and connect with his phone, connection was almost instantly. He has an IPhone. The reviews on apple are much better than in here. come on Recteq, fix the app.

I am still a fan of my smoker, but the app is utterly useless. I've wasted an hour deleting, reinstalling and reloading the app. Ever since the "updates" it hasnt worked on my Android phone. It shows the smoker is on, but that's it. I dont need an app to tell me that it's on - now I can't control anything remotely. Supposedly working on it, but not holding my breath.

Can only give the app 1 star because other than to look up recipes, its completely useless. Since buying my Backyard Beast on 12/18/25, I cant connect my smoker to WiFi. Customer service told me this is an issue with the app and Android phones. Which is quite disappointing because the WiFi feature was THE MAIN reason I upgraded smokers. Did much research and decided on Recteq.. but every since new, cant connect to WiFi. VERY disappointing. My buddys Traeger connects flawlessly.
