Features & Highlights
The United Airlines app offers a robust set of features designed to enhance your travel experience. From booking flights to managing your itinerary, the app is a comprehensive tool for travelers. Here are some of the core features that truly stand out:
Real Experience Using United Airlines
Application Scenarios
As a frequent business traveler, I rely heavily on the United Airlines app for my travel needs. One particular instance comes to mind when I was traveling for a conference. I had a packed schedule, and the app became my ultimate travel companion. It helped me book my flights, check in, and even kept me informed about the best routes to take. After a long day of meetings, I used the app to find a nearby United lounge where I could unwind before my evening flight home. The ease of accessing all these features in one place made my travel experience significantly smoother.
User Experience
The user interface of the United Airlines app is intuitive and user-friendly. Navigating through the different sections felt natural, and I appreciated the clean design that minimized clutter. When I first opened the app, I was greeted with a dashboard that showed my upcoming trips, which made it easy to manage my itineraries. The performance of the app was impressive; I didn’t encounter any crashes or slow loading times. Overall, my experience felt seamless and efficient. I left feeling satisfied and confident that I could easily manage my travel plans.
Pricing
In terms of pricing, the app doesn’t charge any additional fees for bookings made through it, which is a relief for travelers looking to save money. The prices for flights are competitive, and I often find exclusive deals available only through the app. Additionally, I appreciate how it provides a clear breakdown of costs, including taxes and fees, ensuring that there are no surprises at checkout.
Updates & Support
United Airlines regularly updates the app to enhance functionality and address user feedback. I was particularly impressed by the quick customer support response when I had a query about my flight cancellation. The app features a chat option that connects you to a representative in no time. This level of support gives me confidence that any issues I face will be resolved swiftly.
Security & Privacy Review
When it comes to security and privacy, the United Airlines app takes user safety seriously. Available on both the App Store and Google Play, the app adheres to strict security protocols to protect your personal information. During registration, users are required to provide essential details such as name, email, and phone number, which are standard practice for travel apps.
However, it’s important to note that the app may track user behavior to improve personalized offerings. While this can enhance user experience, it raises privacy concerns for some. The app provides clear information regarding its data usage policies, which helps users make informed decisions about their privacy settings. Overall, I feel secure using the app, knowing that my data is handled with care.

there's nothing wrong with the app. I actually like the app and how easy it is to use. the one star is for the notifications every damn minute. 30 mins to boarding. 29 mins to boarding. 28 mins to boarding. 26 mins to boarding. etc... etc... just chill with the barrage of notifications. 30. 15. 5. Boarding. That's all, and even that is debatable too many.

The app is well made. Some tactics it implements are shameful. For example the prominent "complimentary economy plus" bar. You try. It's for pay. It's a lie. You click it and the small letters say "complimentary economy plus at check in." So you wait for check in and economy plus is still for pay. You go back to this bar and then you see oh it actually says "may be available" so united just didn't feel like making it available. Maybe they will in an hour maybe they won't. shameful scalping.

It keeps crashing, and no latest version or rebooting doesn't make it better. Last year version was a bit better as it didn't crash 99% of time. As of June 2026, it just doesn't work as a quality App. United needs to do a much better job with the App since customers need it while on the road and don't have time to take laptop out to make changes!

it's so hard to book multiple cities for multiple travelers. you first got to assign them as "saved travelers" but this option can't be found under the my profile tab (android). Chat support clearly gives outdated advice, and it's AI too so prepare for circular non-answers, what a disjointed app product! not to mention that it crashes often! hopefully, they don't skimp on actual aircraft and flight safety

United's system has a bug where text alerts to check-in for your flight, when clicked on in an Android email app, take you to the United Airlines app on a screen suggesting you choose a different flight, as if your flight is overbooked and you can no longer fly on it. BUT, it's just an oversight in the link - they need to setup an AI agent to test this path autonomously. Their QA probably doesn't test the alert links that it's time to check-in for your flight the system is texting people.
