Security & Privacy Review
As an American user, I pay close attention to security and privacy concerns when using streaming apps like Cox Contour TV. The app is sourced from reputable platforms such as the App Store and Google Play, which adds a layer of trust regarding its safety. Upon registration, I was required to provide standard personal information. However, I was pleased to see clear privacy policies outlining how my data would be used, ensuring transparency.
Regarding ads and tracking behavior, I did notice some targeted advertisements while using the app. While they can be a bit intrusive, the personalization based on my viewing habits did enhance my overall experience by introducing me to new content I might enjoy. Nonetheless, it's important for users to be aware of how their data is used and to regularly review privacy settings within the app to maintain control over their information.

Fine when it works. However it often takes 25 tries to get my show to stream. For some reason other channels start up fine. Almost like it's programmed to make a certain cable news channel unreachable. If you can put up with the frustration getting it started it does usually work fine after that. It is annoying I can't do anything else on my phone while using this app or it stops streaming. Other apps like YouTube multi task just fine. Still disappointed I can't watch a recording from the DVR.

DO NOT DOWNLOAD!!! My cell phone and tablet are useless. My phone shuts down at random, sometimes without notice. Others times, it stops in the middle of using any other given app. My tablet will not turn on. I uninstalled the app on my phone, but the damage is already done... This app really did detrimental damage. Next steps will be to go my cell service provider. If that does not work, last resort to factory reset...

And.... Still not working. Freezing up just as it was. It's completely useless. How's the repairs going?... Still not working, still freezing up over and over and over and over. 4/8/26 - App is still terrible at resuming play, particularly compared to basically every other streaming app. Also, picture in picture never works even though I selected to allow PIP in permissions.

It says you can watch TV on your laptop or computer. From the website: "It's easy to stream TV anytime, anywhere on your laptop or computer." It's the first sentence on the page... but YOU CAN'T. I can't even get the guide to show up to see what channels are available (I understand some channels aren't not available online), I see only what I have purchased. No channel line up, no DVR, no OnDemand option. The website is a lie. The chat bot was useless and the live agent wasn't helpful. So disappointing.

For all those who keep saying it's pointless to use at home... not all rooms in my house have cable (older home). So I use it on a tablet oriented landscape on a stand which makes for a mini TV in rooms without cable. But as far as the app, yeah it's slow to load. Even on a modern device with WiFi 5 (ac) @ 300+ mb/s on a 1 Gbp/s LAN. It's not my connection, it has to load the channel list/guide at startup and everytime you want to change the channel, which makes it kinda frustrating to use.
